ARTICLES I LIKE FROM AROUND THE WEB: (Click title to go to full article) With Greater Age Comes Greater Joy – “We were made to exist within time, to age as we progress through the years allotted to us. As we age, we experience tremendous sorrows—the sorrows of weakness, weariness, reaping, mortality, and fear. But we do not experience only sorrows. We experience joys as well. Some of these extend to believer and unbeliever alike, but God reserves the choicest of his joys for those who live for his glory.” Love & Irritability – “It was a typical night waiting tables in the fine dining room of the country club. Napkins were creased, flowers centered, and tables angled just right. … Read More

Its story is captivating, its characters well-formed, its acting first rate, its tributes to the 80’s priceless. With so much buzz and so many friends celebrating it, I figured I’d give it a go. But this isn’t an article about Stranger Things. Not really. It’s an article about being a prude.” ASKED: Should a younger Christian ever correct an older Christian? – “College is a transitional time of life. ARTICLES I LIKE FROM AROUND THE WEB: (Click title to go to full article) Of Gorillas and Men – “A few days ago, Harambe the gorilla was shot by the Cincinatti Zoo after a 4-year-old child accidentally climbed past the fence and enclosures–only to tumble into the moat surrounding the gorilla’s habitat. Sensing that the child’s life was in immediate danger, zoo workers made the prompt decision to shoot and kill the animal. For many reasons this was indeed a tragic incident–not least of which is the fact that silverback gorillas are a regal and endangered species.” The Slave of Christ – “When I began to preach the book of Philippians a couple years ago, I noticed that Paul immediately … Read More

In John’s third letter, he continues to maintain his fervent love for the church, all the while, calling out a savage threat which threatens to undermine authority, destroy unity, and extinguish genuine love within the body. t has been five years and I am just now learning to embrace the beautiful mess that accompanies motherhood. Before kids, things were just so… Magazines and clever books sprawled across the coffee table with the most intentional haphazard tidiness. Glass jars brimmed with crisp white cotton balls on the bathroom vanity. Festive bowls of holiday candy were strategically placed around the home and decorative pillows were plump and perfectly placed. Today, the magazines are in a pile on the floor next to my nightstand. The cotton balls are in a zip-lock bag in the locked linen closet with the medicine, feminine products, band-aids (stickers), Q-tips, and all other toddler bathroom hazards. The toilet roll is turned backward to mitigate … Read More
